According to Elections BC, all money paid to a political party is considered as a donation for tax purposes. For example: When you pay a $10 membership fee, it is considered and treated as a $10 donation. Likewise, if you pay a $10 membership fee and give an additional donation of $100, your total payment is considered as a donation of $110. By the last day of February of the following year, you will receive an official tax receipt for either $10 or $110 from the examples given above.
